What is the 30 Day Rule For Buying?
Hands up I am an impulse shopper.
More than once I’ve gone into a shop, or logged onto an online store and ended up impulse buying things. Then regretting it later on.
I am sure it is something most of us have done and while I am sure in most cases things have been used. The reality is money could have been better spent elsewhere.
So why not try and bring in the 30 Day Rule for Buying?

30 Day Rule for Buying
You might be thinking Sarah your about to try and teach me something hard, aren’t you.
But I’m not I promise.
The 30-day rule for buying is simple.
Next time you’re in a shop, or having an online basket full, just stop. Don’t go to the checkout, don’t pass go (I mean if you can collect £200 then sure), but just don’t buy that item.
Instead, write it all down.
The item, the price, the shop you are in and the date.
Then walk away.
For the next 30 days, have the item written down and placed in a prominent place, have a think about it from time to time as you pass. Do you still want it? How often will use it? Is it useful?
If when 30 days have passed, the answer is a resounding yes. Plus you have the money without having to put it on credit.
Then go on treat yourself.
However, more often than not the likelihood is your going to not want it come 30 days time and that money saved, well you can put it on something else you do really want.
See the 30 day buying rule really is simple. You just need to curb that impulse, walk away and think about it.
I really hope this will help you save a little bit this year and if it does, well I’d love to hear about it!
Good luck with your 2019 savings goals – lets hit them together!
